Asher And Adobe Lightroom

Its Saturday and I’m really, REALLY, tired.  So I thought I would post a few photos that I took of Asher and edited in Adobe Lightroom.  I have not had the program long, but absolutely love it.  If you are any type of photographer, you have to check it out.

Which one is your favorite – 1, 2 or 3?

  1. great pics. Mandy is having a new love affair with lightroom

patrowland’s last blog post…Commercial of the Week: Brain on Drugs

  2. Jonathan Wolf says:

    2

  3. @patrowland » is your wife interested in some work while in Fort Wayne? Maybe some baby photos?

@Jonathan @marvin » no love for number 1, eh? Is it the giant, NICU issue pacifier? It is, isn’t it?

  4. 1 and 2 are pretty cute. probably 2.

  5. Alyson Wolf says:

My favorite is #3. Babies look so cute and peaceful when they are sleeping. I’m not much of a foot person which is why I didn’t choose #2. And, the giant pacifier deterred me from #1. That was probably way more detailed than you wanted.

  6. @Alyson » You, detailed? NEVER! Yeah, I probably need to cut out the pacifier in image 1 – It is not the most “peaceful” looking thing…..maybe I’ll do that now….

As for feet – I’m not much of a feet person either (in fact, I wish we all had hooves — I think feet are that ugly!) but I love how his toes are little circles… I have to capture the cuteness that exists there before his feet turn into sheer ugliness… (That was probably way more detailed than YOU wanted).

  7. I am going to have to go with #3. I gotta be honest. The Alien eye shot kind of freaks me out. I think you kid might know ET.

#2 – they are just feet with a filter on them.

#3 – now that’s a baby shot with a nice filter saying, “yeah I took this shot yesterday, but for some reason it looks like it was taken in 1982. That’s how cool my son is. He transcends time!”

  8. I like the muted tones in number three..and the warm skin color. It’s nice contrast. I have a whole set of photos that I process half b/w or muted/contrast… I really dig the effect.

I also really enjoy lightroom…it treats RAW formats rather nicely and is pretty powerful…especially when run in conjunction with some post in Photoshop. You running lightroom 1.1+ ? Or just ver. 1?

  9. @Andy » dude – you gotta understand something about photo #1 – Asher RARELY has his eyes open at this stage — to snap him looking at the camera is crazy lucky…although, I do have to agree with you on the ET thing. I’ve already explained my thoughts on photo number 2. Number 3 is my take on 300 – do you see the connection between the movie or am I on crack?

    @Brook – I’m running Version 1.4.1. I know 2.0 is in Beta, but I’m not a big Beta tester…

  10. I like #1

  11. I also like #1

  12. I am in love with all of them, but I love baby feet so I have to vote for #2 :).

  13. @Dustin @Christopher » Thanks for weighing in!

@Nikki » another baby feet lover! I don’t know what it is about them, but I almost like them more than their baby hands. Their like little round peas (I know, I lost a man card saying that!).

  14. Tina Whitney says:

    I like number 3 the best !

  15. #3 is my favorite. I know you are so excited to have that little boy home with you! Can’t wait to see how God continues to grow him!

    heather’s last blog post…Mom’s gone ..

  16. Lauren Kerr says:

Although I love the pictures of his cute little face, I can’t get over those little feet and toes! I’m gonna go with 2! :)

  17. I can’t pick… They are all awesome…

  18. and CJ there is no loosing man card’s here…

Love like yours gains Man cards…Ask the one that loves us the most.

ckroboth’s last blog post…Do you have a story to tell?

  19. @ckroboth » Thanks for the confirmation of no man card loss!!!

  20. Can’t go wrong with a cute babe! I have a lot to learn in lightroom. I’m getting frusterated with transporting photos in an out with iPhoto — it just isn’t working.

  21. Arnie McCall says:

Hi CJ! My name is Arnie. We apparently share a mutual respect for a guy named Scott Mocha. He is a very talented communicator, and exceptional friend of mine. I noticed where you commented on my blog a couple of days ago about some photos my wife and took of our kids from our Florida vacation. Thanks!
However, none of this is the reason I find myself writing this post too you. I discovered your story of your family and your baby Asher through Scott. Needless to say my heart was moved with extreme compassion for you guys. So, to the point of all this. I felt as if I was to perhaps confirm the meaning of Asher’s name too you or either reveal its Hebrew meaning. Either way bro I am just simply trying to be obedient to my heart. Here we go…Asher means, “Happy” and Asher was also the 8th child of Jacob who was promised, “A Blessed Life.” Wow, there ya ago. I finally got that out. So, this seems to line up with the amazing story I have heard about young Asher!! Many Blessings my friend, continue to do what you do best!! In His Grip Forever.
