It Never Is Easy

I woke up around 3:30 this morning. I set multiple alarms because I have a crazy fear of waking up late, realizing I’ve missed my flight out. I showered, got dressed, and kissed my wife goodbye as she looked beautiful, deep in sleep. I ran upstairs to take a quick peak at both my kids – trying to be ever so quiet. Then I grabbed my bags, threw them in the car and headed to the airport – one of only a few cars on the road at that time.
As cool as traveling is (take this week alone – I’ll be taking in an NBA game, a rodeo and one of the greatest steak places in all of the land), the actual TRAVEL part of traveling sucks. Being away from my kids is getting harder and harder and my wife, unfortunately, gets the shaft as she has to battle the kids alone – multiple weeks out of the year.
I love my job. And I’m fortunate – no blessed – to have a job that takes care of my family, and allows me to see some pretty cool places. This is just one part of my job that is never easy….
As a side note, you may notice that I try and post a lot of photos to my twitter account when I’m traveling. The reason? So my little girl can see what her daddy is doing (see, I’m not trying to rub it in your faces!) I got the idea from this commercial – one of my favorites.

The only problem with this post is that your airport picture is that of Denver, not Dallas :) Have a great time man. I am jealous of your trip!
P.S. You probably saw my tweet, but just in case you didn’t, I almost threw up today in my flight lesson. You being Mr. Anti-Roller Coaster would probably have certainly thrown up :)
I am a terrible blogger as I just now noticed your comment (Site5 Server updates have no doubt forced yet another issue with not obtaining notices of comments through facebook….)
YOU would be the ONLY one that would notice that the airport was the wrong one.
