This is real. Seriously. The Lion is held up by his tail, where it contacts the zebra leg, and the entire mount is supported by the zebra back leg. Pretty amazing.

I Love My Job

I’ve made it no secret that I love my job. The last few days, I was able to spend with a client of mine, taking in an event and supporting their efforts. It was RAINY and COLD in Lexington, but I had a good time at my first Endurance Event race.

The event started at 7:30 am. Two races - 100 mile race and a 75 mile race.

They rode all over the Kentucky Horse Park and surrounding farms

They also had to cross a few roads. One rider's race ended early when her horse slipped on wet pavement.

Most rode in groups. They didn't "race" in the traditional sense. With it being an LONG race, they had to pace the horse.

At the end of a 20 mile loop, the rider would bring the horse back to the park for a Vet Check to make sure the horse was doing ok. They would get water, food and then head out for another 20 miles.

What I Do With My Lunch Hour

Before moving into our current house, we lived about a 1/2 mile from work. It was great to go home and see the fam in the middle of the day. After moving, I wasn’t sure what I would do during lunch, but I have been making the 14 mile round trip home for lunch. Want to know why? Watch the video below and you’ll figure it out quickly.

I’m A Sucker For Good Marketing

As a visual minded individual, I tend to pick up on things that most don’t intentionally pick up on. This summer, I noticed some GREAT marketing campaigns involving alcohol (no surprise as they are always good). Both videos do what they set out to do. One involves a beer trying to form a new mold in its target audience and another finding a new way to make drinking cool, hip and addicting. I think it would be freaking awesome to sit in these meetings as these plans develop into what they are below. Maybe I missed my calling?

Now please don’t take this post as a confession to drinking as a result of good marketing. I’m simply commenting on this industry’s ability to create great marketing campaigns. I admit to never having tried either of the products below and do not want this post to be a push for the products either.

Rockstar Photo Edits – Wakeboarding

I’m not a wakeboarder. I’ve done it in college and it was fun, but my competitive tendencies make the whole experience no fun. My brother-in-law is a wakeboarder. In fact, he’s pretty much good at anything behind a boat. I have a feeling that you could throw a trash can lid in the water and he’d figure out a way to have fun on it.

My wife and sister-in-law are the same way. They all have that water gene. My wife was close to mastering wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and will have sky skiing down next.

This past weekend, I got to watch the Heffelfinger-water-gene come out in my beautiful little niece, Lex. Take a look at some rockstar edits of Dad and his little girl wakeboarding.

Lakin’ It Up

God has blessed us with some incredible relationships. We have a beautiful condo in Hilton Head that we can use one week out of the summer. We have a new connection with a home on Sunset Key Island (yes yes, both are through you, Andy). And now we have a lake connection no more than an hour from our place. My brother-in-law now owns a home on Coldwater Lake and it is wonderful. During college, a buddy of mine would meet me and a bunch of my friends after work to ride on Roush Lake until dark – every day. I love the water and wouldn’t mind living on a bigger body of water than I currently do (though the pond is nice). Check out some of the photos from the day along with a video of Jadyn and her cousin cheering Andrea on as she wakeboards.
